Commitment to the Community Declaration

Our mission is to be part of a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and has the opportunity to thrive. Some individuals and groups are not given equal opportunity. We believe it is our duty as the organisation succeeds to make every reasonable effort to make a difference and give back to those in need.
Actions and promises to demonstrate the commitment
- We prioritise making significant contributions of donation, fund-raising and volunteer time to two major registered non-for-profit organisations per year
- We uphold our Philanthropic “Yes” Policy, where Australian Sentinel will sponsor and donate to each and every individual in our network who raises money for a registered non-for-profit charity
- Our employees are encouraged to seek out opportunity to give back and bring to the attention of our leadership so that tangible action can be taken
- We support local initiatives by donating resources and time by maintaining employee contracts with allowance for at least one (1) full day off with pay to give back to the community; it is at the manager’s discretion to approve additional days per annum
- We set aside percentage of every contract to donate to charities
- Annual General Meetings include an agenda item to review philanthropy progress to date and devise meaningful and significant contributions ongoing
- Philanthropy will be promoted via social media; Philanthropy will be discussed in business reviews with key vendors, partners and clients on minimum annual basis
- We will publish frequent progress updates to employees, no fewer than once per year
We make this commitment to our community and look forward to a future where everyone can thrive with equal opportunity and be given the Australian “fair go”.
Primary Non-for-profit programmes

ASPECT School Renovations and Classroom Fit-outs
Australian Sentinel sponsored Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) during “Walk for autism” week as a matched giving partner.
The matched giving promotion was an AMAZING success with overall $47K (gross) raised with a total of 243 donations being matched on the sponsored day. That was significantly higher than the next most successful day.
Sentinel chose to have these funds used to fit-out all the classrooms in the Aspect Vern Barnett School in Forestville with new smart displays.
This is part of ongoing support for the Aspect organisation as our founder has voluneteered his time and resources there for over 30 years.

Indigenous University Scholarships Programme
Australian Sentinel is proud to have continued the Indigenous University Scholarships Programme since 2019. This ongoing scholarship supports students through their studies, funding their university fees and other learning aids.
Shaye was sponsored from year 1 through to her final in 2024. We were excited to announce the next scholarship recipient in 2024 was Nafessa. Watch this space!
This Scholarship Programme was designed in partnership with The Smith Family and Australian Sentinel is proud to be part of their Business Community Champions community. The programme is an extension of the Smith Family relationship, having supported children and youths for many decades through their education.

Cooper Rice-Brading Foundation
The Cooper Rice-Brading Foundation (CRBF) is dedicated to funding clinical research to find a cure for sarcoma, a type of cancer that affects connective tissue and bones. The foundation also aims to raise awareness about sarcoma in the community to promote early diagnosis and provide support for sarcoma patients and their families. The foundation was established in memory of Cooper Rice-Brading, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 17. Despite his battle with the disease, Cooper was determined to make a difference for other young sarcoma patients.

IT 4 a Cause
IT 4 A Cause is an initiative that involves various IT and technology companies collaborating to raise funds for registered charities in the community. It is not a charity itself but serves as a channel for raising money and distributing it to those in need. The initiative organizes events such as the IT 4 A Cause Golf Day, where participants can contribute through activities like auctions and donations.
Australian Sentinel is proud to have sponsored multiple corporate events, made donations and auction involvements over the years.

The Good Samaritan Aid Society - Grants
Australian Sentinel is a long-term corporate sponsor of A Good Samaritan Aid Society (GSAS).
We are privileged to donate our time and resources to identify, apply and manage grants that benefit GSAS and the comminities they focus on. We are strategically positioned to be well-informed about these grants and to navigate the complexities of the process, having successfully guided corporate clients through the grant lifecycle.
Most recently, Sentinel supported GSAS's launch of the SheWill programme. SheWill allows amazing women who have been able to defy all odds and achieve outstanding results by being hardworking, determined and compassionate to share their stories.

Aspect STEM/Robotics Program
Many of Aspects students on the autism spectrum have a great interest in technology and science, hence STEM activities are part of the schools’ curriculum.
To further develop the program, Australian Sentinel purchased additional equipment including Osmo Coding starter kits for iPads, Intelino Smart Train set, LEGO We Do 2.0 curriculum solution pack as well as Bee-Bot software and class packs.
Australian Sentinel is proud provide ongoing support for the Aspect organisation for decades.
